Malta Citizenship by Investment Program Temporarily Suspended

Malta announced that it has almost exhausted the quota of 1800 investors. Therefore, investors who wanted to participate in this program should hurry up in time to file according to the old rules.

Applications will be accepted until September 30, 2020, and a resident card must be received before July 31, 2020.

If the investor does not have time to submit documents before September 30, 2020 (but receives a resident card), (s)he will be considered under the new rules.

According to Secretary of Citizenship Affairs Alex Muscat, the government will change real estate investment requirements. At the moment, the investor must buy property for at least 350 thousand euros or rent a property for 5 or more years with a minimum annual rent of 16 thousand euros.
