/Recently, the Prime Minister of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit announced that a contract for the development and construction of an international airport will be signed by the end of May 2021. This agreement will be signed by the government of Dominica and Montreal Management Consultants Establishment Limited (MMCE).
“Well, the Cabinet met Wednesday 19th May 2021 to consider the draft principle agreement for the construction of the Dominica International Airport. I must report that Cabinet, with some amendments, approved of the agreement for the construction of the international airport for Dominica. And that agreement will be signed between the Government of Dominica and Montreal Management Consultants to develop and construct the international airport, utilizing the funding mechanism of the Citizenship by Investment Programme,” said Prime Minister Skerrit.
He noted that this has been a highly anticipated project for Dominica over the past few decades.
“I believe this is an important step for the country. We’ve all since the 40s 50s 60s been seeking to build an international airport for our country and now we are well on our way to achieving this dream for Dominica. So we look forward to signing this agreement by the end of May 2021 so that the associated next steps can be advanced towards the realization of our international airport,” the Prime Minister explained.
Dominica is quite an attractive country not only for travelers but also for investors. The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program is one of the very first in the world and has been in operation since 1993. By investing in a country, the investor and his/her family have the opportunity to obtain citizenship and a passport of a Caribbean country.
