Changes To The Portugal Golden Visa Program From January

The Portuguese government has officially confirmed the changes to the Golden Visa program from January 1st. The main change is the exclusion of Lisbon, Algarve and Porto from the list of cities where you can buy real estate to obtain residency. The minimum investment amount remains the same.

With regard to investments in investment funds, the amount will increase from 350,000 euros to 500,000 euros. The minimum investment in research activities will also be increased from 350,000 to 500,000 euros.

Such changes are due to the fact that the government is going to stimulate less popular regions and develop less populated areas.

Portugal residency by investment program allows foreign investors to invest in the country and obtain residency in return.
